واليكم نص الخطاب
Dear General Secretary
SFA, KHARTOUM, SUDAN
On July 8,2009 we sent to all members a mail detailing the date of birth and procedure of the Under 17 CECAFA/BASHIR Cup in Sudan. Three other subsequent reminders were mailed to all members early August reminding the members that players legible to play in this competition should have been born January 1993.
Unfortunately and for unknown reasons, SUDAN registered and fielded players born in 1990 and 1992 in their opening match against Tanzania on August 20,2009 at Bashir Stadium which they won 3-0.
This unfortunate anomaly was detected by the match commissioner during teams' inspection.
For this reason, the CECAFA Organizing committee met this morning went through the match commissioner's and referees reports and took the following decisions:
1.The results of the match have been nullified and Tanzania awarded three points and three goals.
2.The entire Sudan team list has been withdrawn and the SFA given a reprieve to name and field legible players born January 1993 for their remaining two matches.
3.The SFA has been asked to be more vigilant and take charge of the registration and verification of the players before forwarding them to the CECAFA General Secretary for approval before their next match.
CECAFA take this opprtunity to warn the other teams that investigations will be carried out widely in all the other competiting teams to ascertain the authenticity of their ages and any team that will be found to have cheated will be disciplined accordingly.
Thank you.
NICHOLAS MUSONYE
GENERALSECRETARY CECAFA
