NFF Bristles over Sudan FA Falsehood
08.03.2009
The Nigeria Football Federation has lambasted the Sudan Football Association for its claims over a transfer scam involving Sudanese top club, Al Hilal FC. NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire said at the weekend that the body was being clever by half over the disputed case. “This is a very clear case: Sudan tried to cheat. Their attempt at fraud has been exposed and they are now barking like bulldogs. It is unfortunate.
“We are shocked at the incidence of someone like Mr. Kamal Sheddad, a former member of the CAF Executive Committee, opening his mouth to accuse the Nigeria Football Federation of being guilty.
“Al Hilal and the Sudan FA wanted to employ underhand tactics to give them advantage over a Nigerian Club, Kano Pillars FC. They wanted to fraudulently off-load two players they felt were not good enough, including a Nigerian defender Ajibade Omolade, in order to register two players they deemed very good from other countries. They have even been contacting Nasarawa United FC that they want the club to come for an all-expenses paid tour of Sudan, which is one of their underhand tactics.
“Their silly game has ended up as mess in their face and they are looking to drag the name of the Nigeria Football Federation in the mud, even after we sent three letters to them denying ever sending an official letter requesting for ITC for the players.
“On our part, we have launched an investigation into the case in order to fish out their accomplices in Nigeria and deal severely with them. It is bad enough when untrue things are said about you, but when such things are coming from people who have never been known to be credible, you feel really gutted
